On Saturday, a night before the Oscars, the Razzies celebrated their 35th anniversary, at a ceremony that took place in Hollywood, inside the Ricardo Montalban Theater, where the worst screen achievements of the year were rewarded.
Cameron Diaz was named Worst Actress by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, for her performance in the comedy movies ‘The Other Woman’, where she co-starred with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton and ‘Sex Tape’ with on-screen husband Jason Segel.
None of this really matter as The Other Woman grossed $83,906,114 and Sex Tape collected $38,543,473.
The remake of Annie, which also featured Diaz, Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis was named Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.
Ben Affleck was honored by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation and won the inaugural Razzie Redeemer Award for his progress from Gigli to Argo and Gone Girl.
The big winner – or should we say loser was actor Kirk Cameron, who collected four Razzies for his leading role in Saving Christmas: Worst Actor, Worst Picture, Worst Screen Combo and Worst Screenplay.
Megan Fox was awarded as Worst Supporting Actress for her role in the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Ben Affleck was the only one who was mentioned for something positive. The actor-director (who won for the terrible 2003 movie Gigli), was acknowledged with the first-ever Razzie Redeemer Award.
