Chocolate Frosting

I baked some cupcakes and I decided that a Chocolate Frosting would match perfectly. You can use it for a cake too.

That’s what you need:

90 grams unsweetened chocolate

113 grams unsalted butter at room temperature

120 grams powdered or icing sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I melted the chocolate in the microwave but you can also melt it in a light, non-plastic bowl set over a saucepan of lightly steaming water. I let it cool to room temperature.

I beat the butter with a hand mixer for about 1 minute until creamy and smooth then I added the sugar and the vanilla extract and beat it for about 2 minutes until it became fluffy and light.

I added the chocolate and beat on low speed until incorporated, then 2,3 minutes on medium to high speed until the frosting became smooth and glossy.
