Pizza pizza pizza…a lot of options and combinations and a perfect way to save a foodles day.
You can use the leftovers from you fridge and it can’t go wrong. Today I’m going to present you Pizza al Tonno or Tuna Pizza.

A delicious homemade pizza with crunchy crust
FOR THE CRUST
- 500 g white bread flour or Tipo '00' flour ( you can use whole wheat flour for a quarter of the quantity )
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 7 g dried yeast sachet
- ½ tablespoon golden caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 325 ml lukewarm water
FOR THE SAUCE
- homemade tomato sauce or 500 g good-quality tinned plum tomatoes
- hot chili pepper or sweet chili pepper (paprika) depending on your taste
- 3-4 peeled garlic cloves
- sea salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1 bunch fresh basil , leaves picked and torn
- FOR THE PIZZA
- 125 g mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 185 g can tuna in oil, drained, oil reserved
- 1 small red onion, halved and thinly sliced
- 90 g canned sweet corn
CRUST
- Combine the warm water, sugar, olive oil and yeast in a bowl and leave for about 5 minutes.
- Pour this mixture in the middle of the salty flour and mix to form a dough.
- Knead for a few minutes until you have a smooth, springy dough.
- Cover the dough in flower, place it in a bowl, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm room for about 40 minutes.
- SAUCE: Mix the sauce ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 200 C degrees.
- Divide the dough in half. Roll out each piece into a thin crust, and transfer to a pizza pan.
- Top with the sauce, mozzarella, tuna, corn and the finely sliced onion rings.
- Insert into oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes.
