Wholemeal Butter Biscuits Recipe

These wholesome biscuits are the perfect companion to a hot cup of tea or milk/ coffee, and have the buttery taste & flavor, that you will fall in love with.

 Ingredients:

  • 175 g soft butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sugar (brown or white or you can replace it with honey)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • pure vanilla extract
  • cinnamon
  • a large cup of  whole wheat flour and a large cup of all-purpose flour, plus more for work surface
  • some orange and lemon peel (optional)

Method:

Flour is added to the result, over the other mixed ingredients . You can add the flour alternating a whole wheat tablespoon flour with a tablespoon all-purpose flour. The final texture should be smooth so you can spread it with a paddle.

Preheat oven to 180 C degrees.

Roll out dough on a lightly floured work surface to a 28 cm round just more than 3/4 cm thick and cut into shapes (if you don’t have cookie shapes you can use a  glass of small diameter).

Place them in a pan covered with baking paper. In about 10 minutes at medium temperature (170-180 C degrees), the biscuits are baked and good to be served.

Surely kids and not only will devour them!
